DIY Wreath Tutorial
I had been wanting to make a gorgeous wreath for my front door, so I scoured Pinterest for hours for ideas. After seeing several ideas, I came up with this design. So, I went to Michael's (my second favorite craft store) and gathered my supplies.
Adornments (such as little birds)
Letter of your last name
I began by wrapping the ribbon around the wreath form, securing it in several spots with hot glue.
Oops! I should have gotten more ribbon. I used 3 yards.
I tied the yarn in a knot on the backside of the wreath. I overlapped it on the ribbon.
Once I reached the point where I wanted to stop, I wrapped it around the wreath again.
Secure the yarn with more hot glue.
It's already looking good!
I removed all of the stems and leaves from my flowers.
I first glued some leaves to my wreath.
I had never made a wreath before, so I was just improvising for a lot of it. My tip is to just use a lot of hot glue and fill in any empty spaces with flowers and leaves.
Position your letter on your wreath and then mark it with a pencil. This will help you know where to glue your letter.
Once your letter is on and your glue dries, your wreath is finished! Add whatever cute trinkets to your wreath that you like. I recommend using a more lightweight letter so your wreath does not tilt. My letter is very heavy so my wreath does not stay upright. I will eventually add something to weigh it down so it's not so lopsided, but for now, it is a beautiful addition to my front door.
